Who are we?

(one family trying to make a difference)

We were proud to be part of the Washington Post's celebration of the 100th birthday of the Teddy Bear!

Dad is Bob "Dr. Bear" Baker, a retired trauma psychologist who helped found the Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists.

Because he spent years in trauma care, Dr. Bear knows the best and most credible trauma care providers in the world. Your bears find good homes with these counselors and other professionals who make sure they reach the arms of children who really need them.

Dr. Bear's work as the world's first "bearapist" has been documented in When a Community Weeps: Case Studies in Group Survivorship ( Chapter 6). Get the book, edited by Ellen S. Zinner and Mary Beth Williams, through Amazon.com to read how Teddy Bears foster healing.
